Diatomaceous Earth is a naturally occurring non-toxic powder ground from sedimentary rock. Diatoms are single cell algae high in silica.
Diatomaceous earth can be selected for:
- Worm control – the diatoms irritate the worms making the gut inhospitable, but are completely harmless to the gut wall.
- External parasites – diatoms are deadly to insects. The sharp silica gets under the exoskeleton of mites, lice fleas etc causing death.
- Improving coat, nail and hoof and teeth health.
